Citrus Honey Tea Punch

Surprisingly simple, this refreshing citrus tea honey punch uses icy mint tea, zesty citrus fruits and fizzy lemon-lime soda to achieve a truly delicious and mouthwatering drink, perfect to serve at large functions or family events. The punch gets an amber sweetness thanks to the honey, and the fresh citrus slices and mint leaves look extra pretty when arranged in a glass pitcher for serving.

Equipment

  • 2 liter pitcher or punch bowl for serving

Ingredients

  • 4 black tea or mint tea bags
  • ½ cup honey or agave syrup
  • 5 cups filtered water, divided
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • ½ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)
  • ½ cup fresh squeezed lime juice (about 4-5 limes)
  • 1 liter chilled lemon-lime soda or flavored sparkling water
  • 1 bunch of fresh mint
  • lemon, orange and lime slices, optional

Instructions

  • In a small pot, steep the tea bags in 1 cup of boiling water for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags and mix in the honey until dissolved. Stir in the orange, lemon and lime juice along with the remaining 4 cups of water.
  • Chill the tea mixture for at least 3-4 hours to get thoroughly cold.
  • In a large pitcher, add in a good amount of ice, followed by the tea mixture, along with any citrus slices if using.
  • Smack the mint lightly to release the fragrant oils. Divide the mint in half and remove the leaves from the stems from one portion. Add the mint leaves to the tea mixture and top with the lemon-lime soda.
  • To serve, pour the punch into chilled glasses and garnish with a sprig of the remaining mint.
