Here's a warm filling and spicy chili recipe that only takes 30 minutes and is the perfect one pot meal for budgeters and comfort food lovers alike. Top it with sour cream, green onions and jalapeno slices if you like it extra spicy! It's also phenomenal with cornbread!
Heat the olive oil in a heavy bottomed pot over medium high heat.
Add the onions and bell peppers and sautee for 5 minutes until starting to soften.
Add in the turkey and break up the meat with a wooden spoon. For a rustic chili, break into chunkier pieces. For a smoother, diner-style chili, break the meat into finer pieces, like spaghetti sauce.
Add in all of the dry spices (chili powder, oregano, cumin, salt/pepper, paprika, garlic powder) and hot sauce. Mix to combine.
Add in the beans, corn, and jalapeno pepper. Stir to combine.
Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and 1/2 can of water. Bring to a simmer then lower the heat to medium low.
Simmer the chili for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally and seasoning to taste.
To serve, ladle into bowls and top with your favorite toppings. Most important step: Enjoy.
